The Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) Program strives to assist teachers who request and/or are referred for professional growth. The PAR Consulting Teacher(s) work with these teachers to improve their professional practices. The PAR Program offers all available resources within the school district to assist teachers who request and/or are referred for professional growth, by developing specific performance goals, offering support and assistance, and monitoring the progress of each participant. Other district personnel may assist in the support as recommended by the PAR Consulting Teacher(s), the school site administrator, or other district personnel.
The Peer Assistance Review (PAR) Program is based on the philosophy that teachers who request and/or are referred for professional growth can receive support by their peers. Through conferencing, observing and coaching, teachers can learn different methodologies and strategies to help them achieve more success in the classroom and provide quality educational experiences for their students. In a time when accountability is essential this innovative program empowers educators to seek professional growth opportunities which will assist them to grow professionally and ultimately positively impact student achievement.
